Let's face it, the assignment for Unit 6 was tough!
I don't know about everyone else, but the main challenge for me was figuring out what our esteemed group of instructors actually wanted from us--a proposal? a list of bullet points? a set of references? what?
Another aspect of the challenge (for me anyway) was that frankly the class to this point has had a fairly light workload--my brain had been lulled into a state of ease! :)
After stumbling for several days and spending my energy in what I came to see was several wrong directions, and with input from faculty (thanks to everyone who asked questions that prompted the email!), it finally clicked that I was supposed to write a budget. D'oh!
I am OK with budgeting since I do it all the time for work. All the educational programs we do are funded by grants and of course every grant proposal must have a budget to let the funders know what we will do with the money they give.
How about you all? How was this assignment for you?
Hey Dierdre--
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about this assignment for a few days now. I'm really not sure what direction I will take it. I have no experience or interest really in this area. I took distance courses from a community college from about 2000-06 so I think I will try to related that experience somehow.
Glad to see I wasn't the only one who was a little tripped up by this assignment.

Dierdre,
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way and was definitely on the wrong path for most of the week. I spent way too many hours researching articles to use for reference. The email helped some but not much. I did start and stop the assignment several times was almost angry at what was needed. I looked at all the information from emails to other post and changed what I was doing. Hope it was what they wanted.
Debbie
Debbie and Whitney--thanks for sharing your experiences here. I too am glad to see that I was not the only person having difficulty.
ReplyDeleteDebbie--I did exactly what you described first--spend way too much time on searching literature!
It looks like from the assignments posted in the class discussion forum that we all muddled through, though. Of course I am only seeing Team B's postings. What did you think of your Team's postings, Debbie?
